Tawfik is a Member of the General Authority for Investments and Free Zones (GAFI), The Export Development Agency (Ministry of Trade & Industry), Board Member of the Egyptian Countryside Development Company, Food Chamber, Food Export council, and ERADA (Regulatory reform initiative), Agricultural Bank of Egypt.

Tawfik is also involved in numerous organizations, and currently serves as, Deputy Chairman of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies, Chairman of the Egyptian Franchise Association (EFDA), and Chairman of the Egyptian Dutch Business Club.

Also, he is a Member of The Egypt-US Business Council, The American University Business School Advisory Board, The Egyptian Austrian Business Council, Egyptian Exporters Association, German Chamber advisory Board, and The Egyptian Kuwaiti Business Council.

Tawfik holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering – Cairo University, a master’s of engineering from California Polytechnic State University (Pomona), and an MBA degree from San Francisco State University.
