Chairman at Suez cement Group

 Omar Mohanna is chairman of Suez Cement Group of Companies (SCGC), the largest cement producer in Egypt. SCGC is comprised of three major cement producing companies and 10 other cement-related operations in Egypt and the region. SCGC is a subsidiary of the German multinational Heidelbergcement Group. Mohanna is chairman of Prometeon Tyre Egypt Company, a subsidiary of the multinational group Pirelli. He is also chairman of Chubb Insurance Co. Egypt, and chairman of Chubb Life Insurance Co. Egypt. Both companies are subsidiaries of the U.S. multinational insurance group Chubb.

Mohanna has over 25 years of commercial and investment banking experience with Egyptian and international financial institutions, which has culminated in the position of vice chairman and managing director of Egypt Arab African Bank (EAAB). He also held the position of managing director of Accor Hotels Group in Egypt and has been a member of the board of directors of diverse companies. Mohanna is chairman of Egypt-U.S. Business Council (EUSBC), and is also chairman of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES). He is a member of a number of business associations, organizations, councils and NGOs.
